Newbie Question:


Just got portable pull-up screen for a small viewing room. Screen has quite an odor. Emailed Optoma-they said it will go away in a couple of weeks.

Is it the paint?

I leave the window open to ventilate to sit through a movie but its winter time here in NYC and its now getting too cold.

Any tips to speed up the odor removal would be greatly appreciated by my nose.

I remember the smell. I think it went away in about 2 days or so. And that's without me opening the windows to ventilate.



Are you leaving the screen pulled up or are you putting back in the case after use? I'd leave it setup for at least 2 days straight. That ought to help.

It's typical of these GWII screens....mine had the same thing. I think mine took a week or 2 before it was gone, but leaving it open will surely accelerate the process.
