I was checking Costco Canada's site. I didn't see the projector listed. How do you know it's coming, just wondering.

It's on that little coupon pack they are sending out in the mail. They say $400 off though they don't say what the original price will be. It will probably come out to $2000 or so. The 806 is a sub-par projector compared to the 80 though

They had it on their site about 10 days ago for a couple of hours. I haven't seen it back up since. The listed price was around $3 1/4. Way to much!

I saw a review on the HD803 at Projector Central and they were ok on that model. I am hoping it will be very similar except that it will hopefully have 6x wheel not 2. If it is that model I will be trading in the 640 for sure.

Correct me if I am mistaken but I was under the impression that 806 is a better unit (higher up model as well) - brighter! 2000 vs 1300 (by HD80)

The picture on the Costco.ca winter coupon book is of the Optoma HD80. I just checked the Optoma.ca website and checked.

As a side note - the HD80 was being sold by several Canadian online vendors for a ridiculously low price. Many considered it a price error that a few people managed to take advantage.

Well it is quite a lot brighter so it may be better if you really need that. But brightness does not come for "free" in this case because contrast ratio has not improved and it is about the same or even worse level than in the dimmer models. Meaning that black levels are much worse in this model. On the other hand this model has an auto IRIS but reports how it works I've heard are not that flattering.

The projector is finally on the web site.

At first i thought it is repacked hd806 model as 2000 ANSI lumens,

Though according to the contrast numbers Contrast ratio: 10000 :1 it is optoma HD8000-LV...

Go figure...

Just saw the deal today for the HC815 (currently own an Costco's HD6800 rebadged HD72 720p) and I found it at the Optoma CANADA Website (odd enough, not listed on Optoma USA)

Costco Canada
http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product....CA&s=1&sl=true

Optoma Canada
http://www.optoma.ca/productcategory...Home%20Theater

Optoma USA (not listed)
http://www.optomausa.com/productcate...Home%20Theater

On thing strange thus is Costco list it with DarkChip2 were Optoma does'nt... (but they do list the HD81-LV as DC3). What do you think?

Maybe it's explain the contrast increase from the HD806 being almost the same except a 8000:1 contrast (don't forget it's DYNAMIC contrast with Iris use) as the ANSI contrast is only 500:1 hahahah!!

The main difference is the colour wheel. HC815 has a 6x 7-Segment colour wheel. I believe that the HD806 has a 2x colour wheel. As a result the contrast ratio increases from 8000:1 to 10,000:1.. The specs indicate that the displayable colours drops from 1.07 billion to 16 million (I would have thought that the displayable colours would increase).
