Hello guys,
I recently had my Optoma HD20 lamp blow on me. Took it out and it obviously was blown... Glass everywhere. I cleaned out the glass and inspected the interior. The little piece of glass on front of the lamp assembly was intact, the color wheel was fine and the fan blades looked good too.
I ordered just the lamp. When it came in, I installed the lamp in the lamp assembly and installed it back into the projector. As I had hoped, the projector turned on and worked great. I reset the lamp time in the menu and let my son play the Xbox360 for a while. When he was done, he turned it off.
After it cooled for a couple hours, I decided it was time to get my game on. Turned on the projector, and instead of the lamp lighting like normal, the HD20 acted as though it was still hot. Green light flashing... enclosure fan running full speed for a couple seconds... (before the lamp blew, it would do that only once then turn on like normal) The projector goes into standby (solid amber light) then flash green again, with the fan blowing... After four cycles, the projector gives a "Lamp Fail" indication. Solid red lamp light, flashing standby light?!?!
I took the projector apart... everything looks and operates fine when the lamp is on. Both fans run fine.
This is a brand new bulb, so I don't understand why its doing this. Unplugging the projector for a few seconds and plugging it back in, the lamp will light up like normal. But after I turn it off for a while... it does the exact same thing and gives the "Lamp Fail" error.
Please help. I've been all over the internet looking for a solution to no resolve.
Thanks,
Xzener
