Hello,


I will buy a projector for Watching series, movies and playing a bit PS3


I was thinking between these two Projector:


Optoma HD600X-lv


Benq MW512


I noticed that the contrast, lamp life and the brightness are higher in the Benq one


did anyone used these projectors for watching movies and playing PS3? How does it look? is there a big difference (especially when watching movies)?

did you see the rainbow effect with these models?


do you know other projectors that are better then these and the price under 500 euro (600$) ?

I also fond these models wich are not very expensive:

SAMSUNG SP-A400B

OPTOMA DW318


So to summarize (less expensive first):

SAMSUNG SP-A400B (Resolution 1280 x 768 , Contrast 2500:1, Brightness 2000 AINSI , )
OPTOMA DW318 (Resolution 1280 x 800, Contrast 2500 , Brightness 2500, )
Optoma HD600X-lv (Resolution 1280 x 800,Contrast 3000, Brightness 2500, )
Benq MW512 (Resolution 1280x800 , Contrast 4000:1, Brightness 2800 ANSI , )


I am not planning to use it for presentation or any office tasks only Movies and PS3. the projector will be 3.5 meters from the screen, I will be around 4 meters from the screen


any feedback on those models will be very appreciated

(does it really worth to go for the expensive model for my use case)

I was Considering buying the HD600x-LV but now I saw the Benq W700 wich has 10.000:1 contrast ratio, but it is 130$ more.

Guys ! Seriously does it worth to pay extra 130$ more for the Contrast for movies usage?

I am really curious how the W700 lines up to it's 10,000:1 contrast ratio claims. Kimo, you want to be the first guy to purchase it and let us know haha

No I did not receive yet (I mentioned in the other thread that it will be delayed).

Yes I wil

they will be two video one for unboxing (Hopefully coming this weekend) and one for showing The BenQ W700 with different inputs (PS3, PC and Mac)
