I'm having a hard time choosing a "degamma" color setting for my Optoma HD65.

For awhile I was using "PC" but then I went to the "VIDEO" setting because I felt it looked less washed-out. I'm still not satisfied with the image! I've been setting my contrast and brightness with the "THX Optimizer" from the original T2 blu-ray. Can anybody offer advice on how to use those same setup patterns to determine the best greyscale/degamma?

(also of note, and I hate to mention it....i'm projecting on just the wall of my bedroom. plain ol' white paint...ADVICE PLEASE?)
