I'm about ready to purchase the Optoma HD65 because my IN72 lamp has given up. Before I buy I was a little concerned about only getting a 90 day warranty for the lamp. Could you guys post your lamp hours and any comments you have about fan noise/projector location.


Can anyone share their purchasing experience from elitecamcorders.com?

I thnk im about at 60 hrs (std/low mode). No issues so far. I dont really notice the fan noise at all. I actually have it on as I type this. Quite happy so far for the price. My question: Is somthing like, say....the epson6500 really approx 1900 bucks better? .....me say no.....for now that is

I have just over 100 hours, with no issues. Fan noise is minimal do not even notice it until I turn off the video source and shut down the projector. Similarily the PJ is mounted above where I sit.. Significantly less noise than my old Infocus SP4805.

My 65 is ceiling mounted, 7.5' up slightly in front of seating. Fan noise is not an issue. I had an early lamp failure (35 hours) but it was beyond the warranty period. I sent it to the optoma service center. They determined the lamp failed due to a faulty driver so they replaced it. No problems since then.

I have about 150 hours on my projector, nice little unit, but I do find that the fan noise is a bit distracting on quiet scenes( it's about 5ft above me and used in eco mode)
