Michael Lynch (played by Kevin Spacey) has a pleasant life. He lives well, has enough cash, is respected by his colleagues and loves both of his wives (who happen to be sisters) and all of his sundry kids. He also happens to be the king of burglars in Dublin. He considers himself to be an "ordinary decent criminal", as opposed to the IRA guys and common thieves. The movie tracks his adventures, as he pulls bigger and more daring capers to prove he's smarter than the law.

Aside from some poor pseudo Irish accents, this was a fun movie. Spacey creates an interesting, colorful character as usual. It even has sequel potential, if anyone steps up and supplies funding.

Transfer quality was unremarkable, not great, not poor.

This is probably a great time to mention "The General", John Boorman's film from a few years back about the same real-life character. While the Spacey film is nice, Boorman's absolutely smokes it- it's probably his best movie since Deliverance. Well worth the hunt.

Good film with (no spoiler IMHO) a woeful leap of faith required to swallow the ending...

Ok for a rental. The women looked real, not like glam queens. Spacey was charming. The reference to art work was cute; it reminded me of Enter Arsene Lupin.

ODC is a lot more interesting than some other films Kevin has done recently, e.g., Shipping News, K-Pax. Shipping News will put you to sleep a lot faster than chloroform. K-Pax is one of the best looking pseudo science-fiction movies ever made, but that's about all you can say about it.
