New to the forums.

I just purchased the 751r and would like to make sure I hooked up my system correctly.

Does anyone know where to select my; blu ray, direct tv and apple tv to be processed through the DAC?

I see scaler for video to choose bypass or process, but nothing for audio.

Or does it all default to process through the DAC?

All my pieces are hooked up via HDMI for now and no analogs.

I didn't run the audessy and just chose dynamic eq.

Thx,

R

Everything that is sent via HDMI is sent digitally. Consequently, any sound you hear from an HDMI input on your receiver will be using the receiver's digital to analog converters.

Thanks! so by just choosing hdmi as my input on osd menu, will automatically send through DAC?  Great.

Any Blu ray players you recommend to pair with 751r?  Cambridge said I don't need the 752bd since it is same processing through same dacs in 752bd and 751r.  Oppo  Darbee or Cambridge 651?

Thanks again,

Any decent BD player will work.

As for an Oppo, you might want to read this thread:

Oppo makes good players, but unless you are going to use some of its advantages over an ordinary player, you might want to save your money and buy a decent $100 player instead. Remember, when you hook up via HDMI, you will be using the DACs in your receiver for audio, so none of the DACs in the player will matter at all.
