Intel has abandoned their plans to ente the marketplace, which is a shame as some competition could've made a big difference in that arena..

I had heard about that.

It's always a sad day when I have to realize that CRT is still the way to go for a while yet.

;)

Curt
It is sad...

I want some killer digital to come out so that I can salvage a cine9 from the local dump!
Oh Jeez!

What a bunch of whiners..... Those little bulb jobs already out there have created a nice pipeline full of used Marquees and other makes, without which Curt and I would have to find real jobs! :D

add:......." where we would be making $100K a year working only 9-5, being techs 'working' on digital sets. Our tools would consist only of a light bulb and a hammer. We'd spend the days saying:

"Not worth repair... BANG!.. not worth repair...BANG!...not worth repair...BANG!... oh, lookie here, changing this bulb actually fixed this one....not worth repair..BANG!..."..."

:D

Instead, we toil day and night on these antiques, charging mere pittances to avoid working for "THE MAN".

That's hilarious, Curt!! :D:D:D

Funny thing is, when I was authorized sharp LCD PJ repair person, That's exactly what we had to do to a lot of PJ's - they simply weren't servicable. Didn't take a hammer to them though (probably should've!) - salvaged working parts instead for other "unservicable" PJs down the road.
Does that mean a stop to LCOS pj's too??

Nicholas
Isn't Philips producing LCOS also?

There are some 5 companies that make LCOS projectors. Intel isn't gonna define the market, you the consumer are. If you want competition start by buying one

That's how I got my XG-852. It was auctioned off as a "very old Projector".

Circa 1999! 1100 hrs, under 300 dollars.

:D
