i go to the next thread and see you've queried about a barco 808....

could that be the one?

i'll hide my face in shame
I have done this same shot on both my 1208s/2 and the BD 808 (which has just been modded to be a BG 808s :D.
In addition to his models, Pete had some good Nemo screenshots.

And I remember CJ had a really good Robots shot.

I like the calibration improvement shown in my Jennifer Aniston picture:

And for archive classics, I'll always like the "foolish" 172" pictures taken a few years ago with my first Marquee (archived link: " 10'+ screens are foolish ")...

My Marquee 8000 at 12' wide:

Millsy's 15' Nemo with a 1292:

And the old Marquee pictures taken with my $19 digital camera:

My favorite part is the light-switch on the left side. It provides scale, illustrates that you don't need a $500 screen, and of course also proves that it's not just a frame extracted from a DVD.
Y'know, id forgotten about those Super large screens you used to use.

I think the football game on a 12 ft wide screen looks great. and gives me ideas.

even the finding nemo shots, although i think im the only guy on the planet who doesnt find the finding nemo shots compelling. Theyre too blue. they dont "pop" to me.

I plan to use "the Incredibles" as my showdog dvd. I saw it again inBB, on the pioneer 50 plasma.....wow did it pop!

Thanks for the response!

To take the thread off topic, the caption under Jennifer's picture should read:

" I know you got it ISF'ed and all, but I STILL can't see your Willie"

;)
And to show that you don't need a fancy projector, here's Brian Hampton's 1271:

And I've always liked the eboyztoyz 1031 screenshots:

I've still got a couple of 1031's in my equipment closet. I got some good pictures of of them, but not quite that good. I hope to find a good cheap home for them one day... someone that has the passion for this hobby to get pictures like that one, but not the budget.
Why the long face Bruce? :p

sorry could not resist....

An excellent example of why the Marquee needs the anamorphic mod
I'm of the opinion that screen shots that are a closeup of something we don't usually see close up, such as an eye, are misleading. They always seem impressive because we are seeing detail that we normally don't see. I believe this in turn tricks us into thinking the shot is more detailed than it really is...

James
Hey,

Thanks! I'm honored!

At the time I was really trying to dial my 1271 in perfect so I could watch Return of the King on DVD because I neglected to catch it in the theaters.

James, You are correct, but the idea is to make the best possible screen shot so that goes along with it. A long shot wouldn't really do. And, You can tell that in Pete's shot the pj is adjusted just about perfect anyway.

Hey,

Can someone more savvy with the picture attachments link in some of Kal's excellent pics from here...?

No - it really is that detailed. But it helps when you have a $5k camera and a $2K lens. :D

Pete
Tim's Blendzilla picture of Bruce Willis looking back is unreal. By far the best ever.
