Prior to purchasing a 5040 for the in-laws I subscribed them to TVGuide.
I've noticed some strangely familiar "additions:"
1. They have a "First Run" section where you can see which shows are airing new episodes and not repeats.
2. Movies are now categorized by genre instead of alphabetical order.
I'm wondering whether this is some hope of appealing to current PVR owners who no longer see a need for "The Guide." Putting it in this format makes it an easy "Quick glance" for what you want to launch.
Or they are simply recognizing how people are watching TV.
