Any network engineers here? I have a couple questions I am having difficulty with and was looking for some help.....
1. You are given the class B address space of 189.13.0.0/16 to partition into four subnets. Three of these subnets must be able to address up to 5000 hosts, while the fourth must be able to address up to 18000. Determine the network, mask, and broadcast address for each subnet. You may assume that the broadcast address is the subnet’s highest address.
If I apply a subnet mask of 255.255.192.0 to 189.13.0.0 I get 4 subnets
able to support up to 16382 hosts each.... not enough for the 4th subnet (18000 needed). However, if I make the mask 255.255.128.0 then I can support 32766 hosts but only 2 subnets..
Can you point me in the right direction?
I have more but I thought I'd see how this went first.
Thanks.
Elmer
