I have a wedding video that I want to convert to DVD but I'd rather not buy a recorder as I wouldn't use it other than for this purpose...I've heard that there are stores that will do it for a price but I can't seem to find who does it...any ideas?
There are plenty of sellers on ebay that do conversion for under $20. Search for "DVD transfer"
Google is another way to find such services.
A word of warning though. DVD-R discs are not compatible with all DVD players. Before you select a company or person to do a conversion for you, ask them what brand DVD-R discs they use then go to www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdmedia to check if the discs are compatible with your home player.
Try the photo department at your local Target store. They feature the VHS to DVD service for $40 for a 2-hour video. Turn around time is about one week. The delivered media is DVD-R and your original VHS is returned.
