I know some of you wait till this time of year to rent/watch that scary thriller you've been thinking of all year. Well, either fun Halloween stuff, or really scary .....


Which movie/s are a must watch?

The best horror movie of all time, for me anyway, has always been "The Exorcist" (split pea is a good thing, eh?).


I'm wondering how "Van Helsing" is though. Can anyone recommend it?

It may not be the scariest movie out there but my wife and I like to watch Dracula around this time of year. It's out on Superbit which is also a plus.

I haven't seen Van Helsing but most people's impressions are that it's an absolutely horrible movie.

You can't go wrong with the Exorcist ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070047/ ).

Halloween ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077651/ ) is good too. A classic.

Sleepy hollow ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0162661/ ) showcases Tim Burton's unique vision. In the same vein Nightmare before Xmas ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107688/ ) is more of a Christmassy movie but a classic nevertheless...

Personally, I liked Darkness Falls. I've seen it a couple of times and it still scares me. It might be one of those "you have to be afraid of teh dark" kind of movies though.

I just did an IMDB search for Darkness Falls because of your rec., but I found two titles with that name, a 1999 movie and a 2003 movie. Which are you refering to?
