I have a DST-3000 with a Toshiba 4:3 HD monitor. When I start receiving 1080i from my local stations, what aspect should it be in, 1.78:1, 1.85:1, or 2.35:1?

Just curious how much my viewing area will be reduced.

Native HDTV (1080i & 720p) is 16:9, but if your local DTV stations choose to upconvert non-HD programming (which most will do), then the upconverted programming AR will be 4:3. Some FOX stations also will stretch the 4:3 to 14:9 and may or may not upconvert from 480p to 720p.

On Showtime HDTV they use the original AR of the movie.
