getting interference from the microwave oven when viewing ota source, have no problems from satelite signal, is this to be expected or is there a problem with the HDTV or Microwave, or something else ?


antenna source is Channel Master 4228 HD @ 30ft from microwave

I'd suspect a bad microwave oven inducing "noise" on the AC line. It shouldn't cause RF interference for UHF/VHF frequencies. Unless... the coax cable from the antenna runs very close to the oven.

I absolutely agree. Much more likely to be noise on the A.C. than anything else. Now, if cordless phone conversations were going away or wireless network connectivity was cutting in and out, that would be different. They all use the 2.4GHz band. But TV, no.

should'nt there be a filter of some sort built into the microwave to prevent this from happening ? as its only a year old

Try plugging the TV into another outlet that is on a different circuit breaker.
