I don't know whether this, or the hdtv reception forum, is proper place to post this question, but I will try this forum first.
I have two hdtv receivers, the new hughes unit (cheap), and the samsung 160. The hughes unit pulls in the local fox (36-1) affiliate decently, but at the same time the samsung pixelizes, and this is after best antenna pointing. I have no trouble with abc, cbs, or pbs signals with either unit - they must transmit at a high stronger level.
My question is whether an antenna amplifier can help the situation, as, of course, i have the cable split before entering the boxes? Or, would this be a problem with a weak tuner in the samsung unit, that no amplifier would help?
If an amplifier would help, I would appreciate recommendations. Thanks.
