I am a D* subscriber who is planning to buy a 42 inch plasma that will not have a built in tuner. I think I read somewhere on the AVS forum that HD satellite receivers are available with built in tuners to receive the OTA HD signals. I’ve also read that the D* H10 receiver has some major problems. What options will I have to receive OTA HD signals? Thanks

Surely some forum member has some information to share on this. Anyone?

I think most every D* HD stb has an ATSC tuner built in

the HD Tivo does as well: and yes, it has some issues

you can also buy a stand alone ATSC tuner: more info can be found on the HDTV Hardware Forum

Does the Voom receiver have had to have been activated to use it for OTA?

Nope. However, you won't get any guide data.
