Most (?) HD receivers have some sort of measurement device integrated to be able to determine signal strength. And, of course - OTA antenna installers have meters to do similar things too. Hope that helps.

Don't know about all STB's, but on the DTC-100, you can only get a SS reading from digital channels not analog.


Also... many 'meters' reflect Signal to Noise ratio, not the actual strength of the received signal. It can be deceiving....

Sorry, excellent clarification ratman. The E86 & it's clones (Mitsu, Toshiba) do the same for the local digitals that are fed by an OTA antenna.

well I have the Mitsu 65511 and either it doesn't have the functionallity or I simply can't find it.


Anyone know which is the case?
