Can anyone help me figure out whether I can use a simple indoor antenna near my Hughes Box or whether I need a full antenna installation for OTA reception in my location?

Depends. Where in Westchester are you; I haven't memorized all the zip codes yet? What kind of terrain, local elevation, obstructions, etc.?

I'm in 10528 and couldn't get an indoor antenna to work. I live at the bottom of a small hill, and antennaweb.org said I should be able to receive the HD signals with a small indoor antenna. Then again, I think I have a defective LST-3100A so that could have been the problem as well. But anyway, if you haven't done so already, plug in your address at www.antennaweb.org

Im in White Plains. I dont think there are a lot of elevation issues but there are a lot of trees in the area.


I bought the Radio Shack $45 amplified antenna to sit on the TV. I will see how it works.
