Was just wondering if anyone know if out of warranty service is available for 4040's, and if so the approx. service charges for such.

In the past couple of days my unit has started rebooting to the please wait screen after experiencing stuttery video. The reboot never passes the please wait. Have to unplug it from power for about 20 minutes or so to get it to reboot properly.

This has happened 3 times in the past 4 days now :(

You can reimage the drive and fix the problem for free :) Otherwise call ReplayTV and they'll probably charge in the neighborhood of $150.

Thank for the advice! Just finished imaging a new maxtor 120GB (All of about $97 at staples after rebate). System booted right up with no issues at all.

Best of all, menu response is MUCH better now. (Not to mention I now have 4x the recording space as before).

All I lost was 2 episodes of Andromeda (will have to wait till end of season repeats to finish that DVD I guess).

Maybe this will also cure the intermittant blue screens of "no signal" as well.
