However, I want to connect to my system a pair of speakers to go in the ceiling (outdoors) of the overhang/front porch area. In addition, we will have a large (1400 sq foot) playroom (built like a gymnasium with 18 foot ceilings, basketball court) where I would like to install a pair of speakers as well. I have no desire to put large numbers of speakers in there...I want to be able to listen to tunes while playing with the kids. I have a roughly 1500 budget for speakers and want to use most for the theater.....any thoughts for these??
Thanx in advance,
Tony
You spend lot of money in remodeling and/or new construction, but leave only $1500.00 for speakers. Be real, and increase your budget.
For HT 5.1 speakers check:

www.saturdayaudio.com (Call them and ask price for a PSB Studio Theater System)
For Outdoors:
You don't have to spend much on a pair of outdoor speakers. Check Insignia:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138083502985 Only $70.00/pr. I have a $70.00/pr. outdoor Advents from 2001 (no longer available) from Costco, and they sound very good, and still strong.
These are somewhat better and on-sale at CC:

Gym:
You can have fun and get a pair of Cerwin Vega CLS-15 at around $360.00/pr. Or, Peavy DJS5, around $300.00/pr.

At CC you can get this DJ MTX that are will rock that gym:

For the gym a good pair of DJ speakers will do, as you don't need audiophile quality equipment, just speakers that sound good, loud, and to have fun.
