Me and some friends are thinking about building a boombox for outdoor use, like throwing a beach party or in the parks. We are using the ta2020 amplifier, but we're in doubt which loudspeakers to use ... do you have any good suggestions in the less than 400 dollar class for two loudspeakers? It doesn't have to be loudspeakers made for outdoor use, we can make our own protection if needed

Coax design with the woofer and tweeter together? You can find marine grade 6.5's with will be weather resistant. For better sound, you could upgrade the stock crossover with those speakers.

Your wording is loudspeakers, so that's where I'll take this.


You could go with a set of Behringer 12" two ways, and jam relatively cheaply.


Depending on plans to integrate drivers within the Boombox, I'd agree, perhaps a highish sensitivity coax, or similar, would fit the bill. Here are some from Madisound.
