Looking at getting a pair of speakers for the patio. Its a covered wooden patio about 20X20.

I'm not looking to spend any big money, and just want a nice simple setup. I'm currently looking at three options and as hoping for some input
  1. Boston Acoustics SoundWare (they seem a bit small but I can get them in a brown color that would blend nicely)
  2. AP650 from outdoorspeakerdepot.com
  3. Tic Asp120

Depending on your budget, these JBLs are some of the best outdoor speakers in these price ranges. The AP650 looks like a good buy, but it didn't list JBL in its "better than" guarantee. Also, I'm a little wary of a silk dome in an outdoor speaker.

Quote:
Guarantee sound better than Bose, Yamaha, Polk and Infinite speakers or your money back. The AP650 patio speaker provide clear, dynamic sound with rich bass for medium open areas.

$100-150

Hi there,

I'm looking for recommendations on a pair of outdoor speakers for a friend's patio. These will be subject to rain, sleet, and snow. I was wondering what's the best I can get for him staying within his price range of $300.

I don't have any experience with outdoor speakers so I don't know where to start and there doesn't seem to be many reviews online, unless I'm looking in all the wrong places.

Has anyone tried Axiom Audio's outdoor speakers? How about the speakers in the OP's list?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

George
