I know these recievers are not really in the same class, but I am in the market for a processor that has 7.1 inputs, balanced outputs, no need for any video switching, all HDMI through Gefen Switch.


The 7.1 will be fed from my HTPC to play blu-ray and hd-dvd, and all delay and bass managment can be done there before it is sent out. I have an Auzentech X-Meridian with LM4562 Opamps, so the sound quality should be pretty good.


So I have around $1000 to spend, and was looking at the 990, but I have a chance to buy a used PT-7010A for $995 used, but in excellent condition.


Just wondering if the used PT-7010A would be better than the 990.

Well I purchased the PT-7010A, so hopefully it will suit my needs, seemed like a good price for a 6 month old $3500 pre/pro. Now I just have to buy some more amps...there never seems to be an end to this hobby
