Can someone enlighten me as to whether I will see a significant difference in upgrading from the LFM-1 to the SVS Ultra

I do own both LFM-1 and SVS PC Ultra. And yes PC Ultra will outperform LFM-1 side by side by comparison in both HT and music application. However, well placed and calibrated 2 LFM-1s will be very comparable to one single PC Ultra IMO. If you are going to buying just one, PB12 Ultra is clear winner but at well more than double the price difference. Consider the size difference as well, PB12 Ultra is "HUGE" compare to LFM-1.
Just having fun,

you bring up an interesting point, I could buy another LFM, The $$ is not the issue, size will not be a problem either, currently my room is 25 x 30 x 7.5. Half is used for HT and the other half for kids play area. I will enclose the HT but not for another 2 years. Wife needs a new Kitchen first. With that additional info what do you guys think

abock,

It will be largely depend on what you are looking for in your upgrade path. Are you looking for more "oopmph" for the HT, more chest thumping bass, or simply more of everything bass(it is kind of addictive this thing call "low extension bass"). Are you basically satisfy with your current LFM-1 performance? Calibrating two subwoofers can be very difficult depending on the situation. In my setup, I basically gave up setting two subwoofers integrated to my HT largely due to lack of suitable placement and/or my lack of knowledge on how to properly calibrate multiple subwoofers. But I haven't given up calibrating my subwoofers yet. I may try again near future as I have more time. So I dedicated one subwoofer for the HT and another subwoofer for the music listening switching back and forth for now. If you are going to use multiple subs simultaneously, it is better to use the identical subs. Good luck.
Just as a reference point for this topic, I dug up this review comparing the Outlaw to the former 600 watt SVS PB2-ISD. I thought the results would be close enough to at least give one an estimation to how the LFM-1 might compare to the Ultra. See link below.
