This may be a stupid thought, But if I set the brightness and contrast

in the overlay of the card, instead of in the PJ, wouldn't the output of

the voltage be higher?? Go ahead and tell me if I'm stupid:)

By the way, what are the cons of gamma? my was at 1, and I turned

it to 1.2, 1,45 seemed strange. There must be a rule-of-thumb. Is there

a chapter on this in AVIA?

Thanks for your time

The card can only go so high. I measured the Radeon 9000 at very close 714 mv at 100 IRE, all three channels. If you turn up the contrast beyond this all you do is compress the top.

WM's right, it has a circuit that supposed to keep it from going beyond .714 Vpp.

Pretty smart idea, without that clamping circuit, the intended computer monitor could be very difficult to deal with on bright scenes, considering that most source material can at random far exceed the 100 IRE window.
