. . . .and this thread might get moved . . . but here goes the question

What is the difference between an oval DSS dish that comes with a 4x4 and one that comes with a 4x2 switch . . . ( my goal is to get ALL the Direct tv HD and regular channels)

The oval dish (with Sat. C kit) will get all channels. A 4x4 switch allows up to 4 receivers connection while a 4x2 only allows for two receivers.

Myself and some others who recently puchased an Oval dish found that it comes with a 4x2 multiswitch. A 4x4 switch is about $100. The 4x2 has receiver 1 side and receiver 2 side each with A and B inputs. A very different animal.

With the standard Sat C kit, I can connect Sat C to ONE of the two reciever but not both. I am considering ragging on D* to send me a switch which works but realistically speaking with one HD receiver I don't much care today. I am also not enthusiastic about replacing the switch on the dish.

Am I missing something here?
