Ok, I'll play along-

Make: 50" Panasonic

Model: TH-50PHD3U

PQ: 4.85 (After Calibration picture is closet to 35mm film compared to others).

Recommend: No- not this model- no DVI, has fans, no upgradeability path.

Picture wise- YES

Make: Panasonicd

Model: 4UY (42" model)

PQ: hmmm, darned subjective. Compared to other 42" screens: 5/5 (overall PQ 4/5 I guess).

Recommend: Yes, absolutely.

Make: Pioneer

Model: 433HD (43" model)

PQ: A bit grayish blacks, better with properly set lighting. Colors are better than my previous Barco 808s CRT projector. 4,5/5

Recommend: If you want a "total" solution where tuner and all inputs are included, this is it. Nice design. No fans (I consider that very important when watching normal TV), XGA - but no orbiter mode (!), too expensive.

I've noticed my blacks aren't quite what they once were after replacing my 2000HD cable box with a 3100HD. I think a calibration would help. Good value for the money. --Karl

my display is ISF calibrated and I am very pleased with it- I now prefer to run sources direct (switched through MC-12) rather than through a processor

Are you also pleased with the black levels? Are you using ambient lighting with the unit? How is it in total darkness?

Thanks,
