Hi all,

I'm not sure to understand Asus P4B533 manual...

The Asus P4S533 has an onboard ATA133 controller, the P4B533 has a RAID133 one (it's an ATA100 onboard).

Concerning the B533 card: is it possible to use the RAID controller as the main controller (means no HD connected to the onboard one)? Or should two HD be connected (one the onboard controller for the boot and one to the RAID controller to be able to use ATA133 HDs)?

Thanks for your reply,

Alyr.

Hi all,

Blight, thanks for your reply.

If possible I would like to be sure about this!

While reading threads on AnandTech forum I've found:

"I was unaware that you couldn't use the latest promise RAID-controller just as a normal ATA133 controller. All my previous motherboards with Promise raid on it, had a jumper to set it to either RAID or as an extra ATA controller..." ( http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...hreadid=787874 )

Could an owner of the board confirm?

Thanks,

Alyr.
