See the P4P800 Deluxe is a popular mobo for HTPC. Anyone config theirs maxing out the 2GB Dual Channel RAM? If so, what vendor/model dual channel RAM did you go with?

Have seen some reports of problems when filling all four RAM slots with dual channel 2GB config.

Thanks

I have 2 sticks of 512MB DDR400 memory. You don't need "dual-channel" kits if you just put in 2 exactly matched modules in each channel. I have Kingston memory in my HTPC, but Crucial is OK as well.

512MB is overkill for HTPC use (even if you turn off the swap file). 1GB is excessive overkill, and 2GB is ... ;)

1GB or 2GB is not overkill if your using your HTPC for serious gaming, but otherwise 512 should be plenty.

I use the P4P8 with 512 of Kingston.

So when shopping for the RAM the specs to look for are PC3200 DDR 400?

Are all the pin configs the same on all mobo's for this class of RAM?

Thanks
