I've read the guides, but still am a little confused about paint selection.

It seems like some feel that if you have a completely black room, one should go with a white paint, while some say the gray is almost the same, but more versatile, so go with gray.

I'm still several weeks away from painting the screen, but wanted to get an idea of what I need.

The projector will be the Epson 8100 --- 11 - 12' distance from the screen, dark colored walls, white drop ceiling, completely light controlled and will be pretty much pitch black when viewing the projector.

Any thoughts, or past threads that I may have missed?

Spray the ceiling Tiles the same color as the walls only 3 shades darker. Use Flat paint.

If you change color, just follow the same advice.

Who in Gawds name told you that White was best?

why is the ceiling always a darker shade? (Is a lighter 'ugly' unless its white or is it more important to have a darker ceiling than darker walls?)
