I was wondering how crazy I would be? I was wondering your opinions regarding any potential downsides i.e. warranties and such.

I find all the 34" widescreens to have that reflective champagne color. I find it under most conditions to be the equivalent of the gray bars we all dislike so much.

I've got the flat black paint, any good reasons to keep the cap on?

You better make sure if you going to go this route, that the paint is non-flammable. I'm not sure, But it would seem that this could void out your warranty. Which would make it difficult for repairs should something go wrong.

I wouldn't suggest painting your TV.

dude, don't try it yourself.

it's not as easy as some think. I tried painting my montior and pc case black once and royally messed it up. Spray paintint won't cut it.

power coated painting will, but the baking process et. al. sort requires you to do it a shop, unless yer an xpert and got da goodz.

ruined my EIZO NANAO 17" reference monitor that way (uneven finish).
