I picked up the piece of 4X8 1/4" hardwood today. Im going to cut it after work to the size of my screen. What I dont quite get is the painting.

Im in canada so I bought a quart of CIL reallife acrylic latex problem solving white primer, and a quart of CIL Premier Interior Acrylic Latex Paint, "Universal Gray" color code "00NN 62/000

SO I havent mounted my projector yet, but I plan on getting it mounted , shine the image on the entire 4X8' board, cut it to size, then paint.

But for the painting, I bought the foam rollers to make it smooth, do I simply roll on a coat or 2 of the primer, then 2 coats of the universal gray?? Or should I let it dry between coats and sand it smooth (what grit)

I will be painting this inside so the board will be laying flat, wont be hanging on the wall already.

Thanks for any tips

if all you're doing is primer and a simple grey screen... then unless you get a ton of build up... there shouldn't be a need to sand.

tip. since you'll be rolling with the screen flat on the ground... add 1/3 polycrylic to the simple grey mix and gravity itself will help to level/flatten out the coats.
