I have researched home theater seats and although I would love to purchase customized Fortress seats they are out of my budget. After reading many reviews and sitting in the seats at a local retailer I am thinking I will go with the Palliser Indianapolis theater seats. Does anyone have these seats and are they happy with them? Do they hold up? Do they give good head support to those over 6 ft tall? How does the leather wear?

RyanGarrett:

Hopefully an owner or two will chime in, but until then here is some info:

The Indianapolis is certainly a nice looking chair. As you probably noticed, it's a little more firm than some of the other Palliser models and some other theater seats. I tend to like firmer chairs so this is not a bad thing in my book.

Palliser has one of the better warranties in the home theater arena. You can see the full warranty here:
http://www.palliser.com/export/sites_palliser_2010_0930/Resources/Documents/Warranty_Book_03_13_eng.pdf I have never heard of any issues with any Palliser leathers peeling, cracking or anything else since we have sold them beginning around 2008.

The back, unfortunately, is only 41" tall. This is on the lower side of home theater chairs. So I would not recommend this for anyone over 5'11" or 6'0" tall.

The lower grade leathers tend to be thicker and more durable. So if you have kids and pets stick with a Grade 1000 or 2000. The higher grade leathers are softer and more supple and some are "uncorrected" leathers (meaning they leave in natural imperfections in the hide, intentionally). Consider grade 2500 and up if you like the softer leathers and are considering full leather (as opposed to leather match). Palliser uses nice leathers, has a huge selection (probably the largest out there) and one of the better warranties on their covers out there.

I hope this input helps until an owner of the Indianapolis replies.

Hi,

Just received my Indianapolis this past week. 3 row curved, power recline, Led cup and bottom lighting, storage compartments, and accessory trays, in leather 2000 series wheat. Excellent build quality, and the seating is just right for posture and comfort. In fact, the Indianapolis is the only chair which I believe has marketing pertaining to posture versus comfort for the other series. The other chairs, which may offer more plush seating cause you to sink back into the seat, which is also great, but I prefer a little more solid feel and with the right touch of leather. The plush feeling is all about your own personal tastes. I have caught myself falling asleep listening to music in this chair already. Room in 19x20, basically a square box, haha. The wife also bought into it as well, as it is somewhat sleek with amenities, while offering the benefits of a home theater chair.

Have fun.
