Palliser Seat LED Cup Memory Programming: Trick to programming?

I have a set of Palliser Flicks theater seats.
They have the LED lights and head rest and back settings.
I am trying to program the M! and M2 memory buttons.
I get the chair where I want it M1 (reclined) and M2 for default upright. I hold the M1 or M2 button down, the chair vibrates for a second (I assume that programming has been successful) but it works for a bit or not at all. I didn't get manuals when they were delivered and can't find anything online.
Anyone know the trick here to programming the seat memory?? All seat functions otherwise work fine!
