Hey Dnice maybe you can straighten me out here...but I thought the 5080/5010/6010 all had a .008ft/l and the elite's were .004?

Also do you have any info on the processing/scalers in these new sets?

Nope. 1080p models have been reviewed at 0.004ftl. The 768p models have fluxed between 0.004 and 0.008ftl (I'm not including anything from CNet as i cannot classify them a "professionals").

I have not heard of any major improvements to the processing besides the 1080p/24 capability and true 4,096 graduations.

Can you put the 4096 graduations into english for some of us?

The 800/850 series is "stunning" and the best consumer design ever.

I would tend to agree

What the current PF10UK series can do.

I assume it has to do with color transitions or transitions from darker to lighter shades of the same color?

If the 46" or 50" Panasonics are the same price as the current 5080HD, then I will pick one up and return my slightly buzzing 5080HD. That is if the blacks are nice.

The blacks will be better but it doesn't look like they will be quite the level of KURO.

According D-Nice; the 768p models have fluxed between 0.004 and 0.008ftl. The new Panny is 0.009.

I doubt you will notice this difference under normal viewing conditions.

Daylight conditions....you won't. I think that's what matters to most.

I'm excited panasonic has made these improvements, I just hope the 768 line doesn't get pooped on in terms of features and new/improved black levels.

I love panasonic as a company have for a long time but the KURO processing is just so good unless panasonic does something in that regard I still may go Pioneer :hs:
