I recently purchased a panasonic 42px500, and after I purchased it, I read somewhere here that this model can't be professionally calibrated because there is no access to the service menu or something. Does anybody know if that is true? If it can be calibrated, does anybody know somebody in the San Francisco area that can do it?

I have done the best I can with DVE, but I'm just not good at making these adjustments. I tend to fool myself as to what I actually see.

Unfortunately It's true. Grayscale cannot be adjusted on the Panasonic 50/500 Models.

There is a procedure available to consumer authorized service centers to allow WB adjustments. There will be a service manual supplement, not issued as yet.

ASCs only should contact their field engineers for more details.
