Very sorry for my ignorant post, but this came as a surprise. It never really clicked in my head that I needed a 720p TV to play beautiful xbox games in 720p, I always figured all HDTV would handle it.
Sadly, I realized I was so very wrong tonight.
I'm an avid gamer when I have time, and it's very enjoyable. I recently bought the Panasonic Tau 53TW53 53" HDTV (two weeks ago). Today I was excited and put in a friends game (True Crimes) for the xBox in 720p. I had my xbox configured as 480p/720p/1080i all ON. When I turned True Crimes on, it wouldn't show any picture, so I then turned 720p off on the xbox, and of course it worked.
Ahhh, the agony. True Crimes looks horrible in 'normal' mode, what am I to do?
Is the only way to switch to another TV?
I bought at CircuitCity two weeks ago, anyone know their exchange policy? Can I exchange for a better TV?
