Just received my projector 3 days ago and have the following problem

about 2 minutes after startup I hear a clicking noise the picture gets darker for about 2 sec and goes back to normal. This has happened after every time I turn the projector on. I am running 1.05 firmware and connected via VGA.

Any suggestions or should I send the unit for repair

Thanks

I usually warm my unit up for about five or ten minutes so I don't really notice any sounds as I usually just turn it on and walk away so I'm not of definite help.

However I would speculate that it might be the AUTO IRIS going through a self-calibration procedure - checking the limits of its open and closed configuration.

no this doesnt happen to me normal for me. id call and while i was at it id ask why you dont have the latest firmware when you just got the darn thing
This does not sound normal to me either. When initially setting up our 700, I sat with it like a new born babe, definitely no clicking noise.
Just got home and turned on the 700.

There are two distinct clicks when turned on which I believe is the AUTO IRIS as I mentioned previously. If this does not seem like a description of what is happening with yours a call to Panasonic's service would be a good idea. At the least it might relieve your anxiety.
