Guys,

I just bought a Panasonic CT-27SX31 Tau (which is just a CT-27SX11 with PIP) and I have some serious geometry issues. Horizontally the picture is not too bad, although the upper right hand corner bows upward as noticed on letterbox movies. The real problem is the vertical plane. The middle of the screen is good, but when watching sports with boxscores and such, the vertical lines on the outsides are horrible. Can anyone guide me through the process of entering the service menu and adjusting these issues? I realize I will need to buy a setup DVD. Any tips anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. Other than the geometry, the TV is incredible. On side-by-side comparisons, the picture was MUCH better than the Sony, Samsung, and Toshiba in the same price range. Does anyone have a recommendation on a set that will perform better (with or without adjusting) in the same ($500-$550) price range? Thank you very much in advance for all responses.

I had 2 versions of Panasonic's 32" (flat screen) 4 x 3 HDTV. Both were returned due to distortion problems. Some are better than others. All (most) brands seem to have problems. The adjustments are done inside the set and all you will get is improvement, not perfection.

Good luck,

Your post reminded of the 32 inch panny I gave to my church in order to get my F-38310. I hope you find answer to your distortion. :)
