My 2005 S77S stopped recognizing the remote today. The remote works with my TV to turn it on and off, and I cannot get another universal remote to recognize the DVD player. It is out of warranty, but otherwise works fine. I've browsed panny's list of parts and am not averse to fixing it myself, however-
Anyone else experienced this problem with either the S77 or the S97?
Anyone know how to reset the player without the remote?
Any links to service manuals?
Any other ideas?

Edit- factory reset as directed by service (skip back + pause + open drawer) did not help.
