Today I read an artical in the Home Theater magazine. This artical reported on the future of HDTV. A section of the artical reported that Panasonic has decided to longer make any RPTV that can display 720p, due to the lack of demand for the format. They had hoped that ABC's affiliates would purchase hardware from them that supports 720p, but instead most of them have purchased equipment from Sony, which does not support 720p.

Question" How will this affect ABC's view in providing HDTV in 720p?

It seems to me that it would make more sense for ABC to go ahead switch over to 1080i. It is pretty much clear that the future of 720p is headed towards the Betmax graveyard, if it has not already buried.
