Has anyone taken a look at this tv??


I have been looking at a front projector system but it seems to me that the technology just isn't quite there yet for an affordable every day system. I am looking around the 2K price range. I saw the Mitsubishi 55511 and was very impressed. Is the 411 the exact same thing minus the hd tuner? Would the 411 be worth and extra $400 or so dollars? The Panny looked pretty damn good at the store but didn't see it side by side with the Mitsu. Any other candidates to sugguest???

I owned this TV for a while and there are better sets for the money IMHO. The lack of a HDCP compliant DVI port _might_ be a big minus down the road but then again you may never use it.


The Panasonic does produce a good picture but it's blacks and build quality are not as good as some others in the same price range.


I finally settled on a Sony WS500 with a 2003 manufacturing date FWIW. Some of these units shipped before 2003 are known to develop a flickering problem.

A fully tweaked out panasonic is pretty much the equal of a fully tweaked out Sony set. Sonys tend to come OOTB slightly better than Panasonic ...
