I clean the air intake filter on my Panasonic PT-AE500 as the manual suggests. Today, the air blast blew several large holes in the foam rubber.

It looks as though the sponge was attacked by a mould/fungus. Just as well this happened outside of the projector and not inside!

Can anyone tell me where I can buy a new filter, my search in Google led to nothing.

I found these in the PANASONIC parts site.
http://www.pstc.panasonic.com/epartr/

TMZX5018-1 AIR FILTER FRAME/COVER $1.33 ea,

TKNE044-1 FILTER $1.00 ea.

Instead of cleaning the filters, I will change them, safer!!

My old PT-AE200 uses the same filters. I used to buy them from Panasonic nine at a time (bizarre online shopping cart cannot accept more than nine items) to justify the shipping costs and changed the filter monthly. My AX-200 has a "permanent" filter that I vacuum every month to keep clean. I had a little debate several years ago in this forum when another member complained that my practice was environmentally unsound -- I wonder how many spent 2x3 inch PJ filters it would take to fill a garbage dump
