My Panasonic PT-L711XU has 1540 hours on the bulb of mainly LOW mode usage, and has recently started flashing the TEMP light and switching itself off, obviously overheating after 1-2 hours. The bulb supposedly will last longer than that in LOW mode. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be, or have you experienced anything similar?

Thanks

Paula

I have a PT-L711XU. Are you sure you've been cleaning the air intake filter?

It's on the side near the front... You should clean it at least every couple hundred hours or so. I find washing it carefully in water is the only way to get much of the dirt out.

I had the same problem even after cleaning the filter...

Panasonic Australia replaced the lamp and it too shut down after about another two weeks use. Then they replaced the lamp ballast (power supply) and the lamp seem ok after that...

BUT a month or two later I started getting ver noticable disclouration on the picture - large green shading on top right and bottom left and red shading on the opposite two corners.

I sent it back and got a refund.
