Just a general question to make sure I got my new equipment hooked up correctly. When viewing 480p DVD's on my Mits HDTV in normal mode I still have some small grey bars at the top and bottom of the screen kinda like on a 4'3 TV. Since this is my first experience with 480p and HDTV I was kinda suprised that it didn't fill up the entire screen unless I put the TV in expand mode.

I went through the Pany manual pretty good and think I got it setup right. Is it normal to have grey bars when viewing 480p on HDTV's.

Thanks.....

I only own 2 dvd's Matrix and Star Wars Phantom Menance both of which I see are2.35:1.

What is the ratio of a DVD that should fill the screen in standard mode?

Any names of DVD's I could go rent to check out my system?

Thanks.....

1.78:1 is 16x9. But because of overscan, 1:85:1 will fill the screen. Shrek is 1.78:1, Toy Story 1 & 2 are 1:85.1. Look on the back of the dvd case and it should show the aspect ratio.
