Anything at 192 kbps or above has brief dropouts. Does anyone else have this problem with the RV-32 or any other current Panasonic model? I am using Exact Audio Copy with the LAME encoder. Same discs will play fine in a Toshiba SD-2800.
I tried the Blade encoder at 320 CBR and it works fine on the RV-32, the SD-2800 still doesn't like 320 with either encoder. It is good to know 192+ is supported with a compatible encoder, but disappointing that one of the most popular encoders (LAME) doesn't work well with the RV-32. I'll have to go to Sears and check if the RP-62 is any better, still have a week left to exchange it for a different model.
Tried several options that might affect framing or effective bit rate. --strictly-enforce-ISO did nothing, -nores did nothing, removing -p did nothing. Finally tried --noshort and it worked! Perfect playback at 320 CBR.
