Thanks in advance for your help. I just recently picked up a panasonic SA-XR55 and am really enjoying it however I am having problems getting DVDs to play in surround mode. I have a 5.1 setup and both my HD cable box and my dvd player (I'm using a playstation 2) are hooked up with optical cables. When I tune to an HD channel with the cable box, I see all 5.1 surround channels on the right side of the display light up, so I know it is receiving surround sound. However, when playing a DVD (ones I know are encoded with 5.1) all I see are the left and right channels light up and it says stereo. Is this correct? It seems to me all the channels should light up as it does with when watching HD channels. I've tried switching the inputs with no luck. Any advice? Thanks.
