Greetings everyone,

Im having an issue with my Panasonic SC-BT300 system.

We have Western Digital TV Live's connected via digital optical connections to D-IN 1 (have also tried D-IN 2)

The issue is when we stream movies to the WDTV Live, we have the units set to pass through audio streams to the SC-BT300.

I have noticed that if I stream a movie with its audio track encoded in AC3, I get audio just fine.

For any DTS encoded MKV's, I get no audio at all when using digital pass through.

I thought this unit is supposed to be able to decode multiple DTS formats?

Anyone else experience this?

Is there a work around?

Is this unit limited by anything?

Will it not decode DTS streams via the optical inputs?

I hope this can be worked out or I may need to abandon Panasonic products?

Im running latest 1.9 firmware.

Here is an example of content that does not work, and content that does:

Inglorious Bastards Blueray rip (does not work with digital audio passthrough, get no sound)

Many Panasonic HTIBs decode DTS when a disc is played on the unit's own player, but not when bitstreamed from an external source. The manual likely has a note saying something about the optical input supporting DD 5.1 and PCM, but with no mention of DTS.

The best you can do is have the external source decode the DTS track and send a downmixed stereo signal to your Panasonic unit. If you use Dolby Surround when downmixing and ProLogic II in the Panasonic, you'll get halfway decent surround sound.
